When determining which car insurance policy is the right policy to purchase, there is no one answer for all consumers. Each person and each driver are in different situations. Whether it is financially or whether it is which insurance company they want to decide on, there is no ‘one right policy’ for all drivers in the insurance world. When deciding on a policy, take your time, do the research of all companies, and make sure you are picking the policy that best suite your needs, your budget, and you’re driving style. ‘The right policy’ is not really the way to look at the car insurance market when you are deciding on which policy plan you are going to choose. There is no one right or wrong insurance coverage plan. Each driver will have different needs, and each driver will have the ability to afford only a certain kind of car insurance coverage. So the ‘right’ coverage for each driver is a fact by fact and situation by situation assessment which has to be made before choosing on a policy plan. Generally if you are a young driver (teenagers or under the age of 25) most insurance companies believe that you are the most dangerous drivers on the market. Therefore, this age group will see the highest cost in their policy. If you are in this age bracket, there are a few things to lower your rates. Get good grades in school. Most, if not all insurers, offers a ‘good student’ rate. The idea is that if you are able to concentrate enough and do well in school, you are less of a risk and will take more care and concentrate more as a driver. Also, being a safe driver, and not getting any moving violations or being involved in any accidents for a period of time, will bring your rates down if you are in this age bracket. For the younger demographic the more insurance coverage purchased the better. Since they are the riskiest drivers, a full coverage plan is probably the best fit. However, financially speaking, they might not be able to afford it; so, make sure to obtain the most coverage possible which is affordable to you. For all other drivers, the rates will decrease after the age 25. Therefore, you can afford a full coverage plan, and have the ultimate coverage. However, if you don’t drive much, or drive few miles annually, consider other options. Each driver is different, and each needs to consider their driving habits to choose the best plan for them. Ultimately there is no ‘right’ plan for each driver. In some instances the best policy is the one you can afford; while for other drivers the best policy is complete coverage, and nothing less. Each individual driver needs to set a plan when choosing a policy and make sure to go with something that suites their needs. When in doubt, full coverage is always the ‘best bet’ for all drivers on the market.
